Is there an armoury or a base with a shop around there?

Yes, there is a Service Battalion located in Sault Ste Marie. Not sure of the numerical designation since they realigned reserve units.

Just got a message from the chain of command that the location is

ASU North

That wasn't too specific so I would assume it's still Sault Ste Marie, or would it be somewhere else?

ASU NORTH appears to support JTF NORTH which is in Iqaluit.

Area Support Unit (North) Headquarters is chiefly responsible for facilitating Northern military exercises and operations for Joint Task Force (North), 1st Canadian Rangers Patrol Group, 440 (Transport) Squadron, Loyal Edmonton Regiment (The Yellowknife Company), and other units.
