On Thursday, October 5, Media are invited to attend a technical briefing and the official announcement of the Joint Suicide Prevention Strategy with Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan, Veterans Affairs Minister and Associate Minister of National Defence Seamus O’Regan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs Sherry Romanado, and General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff.
Technical Media Briefing
Prior to the official announcement, media are invited to attend a technical briefing hosted by National Defence and Veterans Affairs officials on the the Joint Suicide Prevention Strategy.
Spokespersons will include:
Lieutenant-General Charles Lamarre,Commander, Military Personnel Command;
Brigadier General Andrew Downes, Surgeon General, Canadian Armed Forces;
Col Rakesh Jetly, Senior Psychiatrist for the Canadian Armed Forces;
Michel Doiron, Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Delivery, Veterans Affairs Canada;
Dr. Jim Thompson, Research Medical Advisor, Veterans Affairs Canada; and
Dr. Alexandra Heber, Chief Psychiatrist, Veterans Affairs Canada.
